Our Housemates have had to draw from their life experiences, to navigate life in the House.
Self-actualisation
One common theme that struck a chord throughout these reflections, is how the Housemates have managed to ‘find’ themselves through their journeys. Bryann mentioned that he never knew he had an identity and was scared to express himself, but found himself through music. Dotun, on the other hand, said he found himself, through discipline. Despite facing the dilemma of trying to figure out what he wanted in life, constantly reminding himself to be present in every moment; be it at the gym or school, helped him achieve the actualisation he was seeking. Dotun has carried his discipline into the House and once bagged the Head of House title, even though his reign raised controversy.

Sheggz achieved his dream of being a soccer player. He recounted how a goal he scored during one of his games saved his team from relegation. Sheggz shared that what was poignant about the goal he scored was that it was in the same city where his uncle passed away. Bella, on the other hand, shared that she lacked confidence even though she was aware of her beauty. Bella said that she realised that she is colourful and cannot be defined by just one colour.
Shella discuss the future
Eloswag mentioned that he was on a journey to find out why he is so multitalented. He said he knew to never back down, because Biggie gave him a chance. Chomzy revealed that she was always unique and that while she had fun auditioning, she was determined to make it into the Big Brother House. This speaks to the competitive nature that she has shown during her time in the House. Over and above the numerous Task wins, Chomzy also became this season’s first female Head of House.

Self-love
Like many people, the Level Up Housemates have also faced self-esteem issues. During the Task, Allysyn revealed how she kept staring at herself in the mirror, to come to terms with her skin tone. She mentioned how she would search for herself in other people, and eventually cut her hair as the journey to finding her authentic self intensified.
Rachel, on the other hand, mentioned she believed she had no place in any crowd that she found herself in. This season’s Rider said she overcame this by believing in herself and looking within for strength. Head of House, Phyna admitted to being a feminist, and revealed how she was bullied by men, which was the confidence she needed to audition for the show. Phyna also revealed that she is a bit of a recluse and finds joy in her family and close friends. Another Housemate with a similar story to Rachel’s is Chichi, who said she never belonged and was always shut out. Chichi added that she was never allowed to express her uniqueness, until she found her inner strength and confidence. Both Rachel and Chichi found their way to each other in the House and struck up a friendship, though they recently had a heated argument.

Resilience
The Top 11 have proven that they have what it takes to be on the show, especially given the stress in the House that has often led to confrontations. Chizzy told his counterparts that he owes his progress in life to all of the people in his life who believed in him, and that he understood that the road to success was not easy. Doyin on the other hand has had the opposite experience to Chizzy. She expressed that she doubted her ability to make it in the medical industry, since her family didn’t believe in her and claimed she was sleeping through school. Could this be the reason why both Chizzy and Doyin are friends? The pair have cultivated a friendship in recent times that eventually saw Chizzy developing romantic feelings for Doyin.
Hermes recounted his journey to his fellow counterparts about how he was constantly targeted by the police because of his appearance, which made him want to disappear. He shared that this profiling from the police saw him spend a year in different police stations, which didn’t deter him from living his life.
Fostering friendships
Daniella, who found herself getting close with Khalid at the beginning of the season, became close with Dotun when the merge occurred but the pair had a spat last night as Daniella was heard telling Dotun that he can’t keep treating her badly. Daniella and Dotun didn’t allow their disagreement to fester as they were seen this morning talking things through.
Allysyn who was associated with Adekunle earlier in the season Nominated him this week for possible Eviction, claiming that she was getting bad vibes from him. The pair seem to have resolved their issues since they were spotted in the salon today where Adekunle was grooming Allysyn’s head.
