Although the two Levels have merged into one, the separation is still evident.
Biggie had a new trick up his sleeve for the Level Up Season and no one saw it coming. Besides placing Fake Housemates and Riders in the House, the House was divided into two Levels, and the division has continued to grow even in light of a merger.
Before the merger, Housemates would occasionally meet for Tasks in the Arena and the Party Room for the Saturday Night Party. They started building friendships, identified foes and gauged potential threats. It did not help the situation that Level 1 Housemates kept winning the Head of House Games, getting Level 2 Housemates Nominated for possible Eviction every week.
So far, 11 Level 1 Housemates (including Modella) have been Evicted from Big Brother Naija, while Level 1 Housemates have remained intact, except Fake Housemate Deji. This has created a sore point for Level 2 Housemates, and their pain has manifested itself on several occasions.
The food wars that started when the Houses merged were driven by Level 2’s entitlement to the food they earned during the Wager Task. Ride Chizzy even went to the extent of telling the Level 1 Housemates they must eat their immunity (for winning HoH Games) because they won the Pocket Naira. The beef with the food continued for some time until the merged House’s combined Wager Task win.
Watch Biggie address the food war:
The division’s nasty head continues to show itself in the Diary Room on Mondays for Nominations. The remaining real Housemates from the former Level 2, Bryann, Chizzy, Daniella, Groovy and Phyna, chose to Nominate Level 1 Housemates. This is not the same strategy that Level 1 Housemates have adopted. For instance, Adekunle Nominated three Level 1 Housemates; Bella, Sheggz and Doyin.
Speaking to Biggie in today’s Diary Session, Bryann stated that he intentionally Nominated Level 2 Housemates to give his former Housemates a fighting chance. He noted how there are fewer of them, and they (Level 1) remain in large numbers.
The lessening number of Level 2 Housemates, however, created a big convenience for managing food. Today, Phyna cooked five pieces of meat with Jolof rice for his fellow Level 2 Housemates. Groovy counted the number of pieces Phyna was cooking. Was he verifying that she cooked for their Level?
When they ate, Level 2 Housemates sat on one end of the Table, and the Level 1 Housemates were on the other. “I’m so glad I don’t care about food much,” Doyin said while the Level 2 Housemates enjoyed their food.
Sheggz as the Tail of House rocked his green “here to serve” apron and fried bread with eggs for Rachel and Bella who are both from Level 1.
Considering that the Housemates lost last week’s Wager Task and do not have Pocket Naira to buy more food, will the dividing wall grow large, and will we spot more wahala over food?
