It’s well-known that the Portuguese superstar is after a move elsewhere this summer due to the fact the Red Devils are not in the Champions League.
Various clubs have been linked with a move for Ronaldo, including Atletico Madrid, although their fans have made it very clear they don’t want him brought in.
The Ronaldo situation is starting to become a bit messy for United and it’s one that needs sorting out before the 2022/23 season kicks off next weekend.
Rumours surrounding the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future at Old Trafford have been rife in recent weeks, with one of the latest suggesting he is adamant about leaving the club.
C. Ronaldo fan posted the rumour on Instagram writing that his agent Jorge Mendes has informed United about his desire to leave and that Sir Alex Ferguson has had to intervene.
Is it true? Well, according to the man himself, absolutely not.
Ronaldo, who is the most followed person on Instagram, left a cryptic comment underneath the post in which he poured water on the fire.
Ronaldo’s Instagram comment
The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward wrote on the social media platform: “Impossible not to talk about me one day. Otherwise the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going that one day you get some news right.”

Interesting…
So, does Ronaldo want to stay at United after all? Honestly, we just don’t know anymore.
If he does remain with the club to see out the final year of his contract, it will be interesting to see how he is utilised by new manager Erik ten Hag in 2022/23.
Anthony Martial has impressed the Dutchman during the team’s pre-season outings, the striker netting three goals – including one in the 4-0 thumping of Liverpool.

A fluid front three made up of Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho looked the business in the friendlies, although it remains to be seen how it would hold up in a competitive setting.
But what that means is if Ronaldo remains at Old Trafford, there’s a slight chance he may not be the focal point of the team like he was last season.
Would it be best for both parties to terminate their relationship? We’re starting to lean more towards ‘yes’…
