Specifically, he disclosed via his Twitter account that he spent a staggering sum of N52 million on a collaborative track he recorded with two other music stars, Davido and Kizz Daniel, titled ‘Like’.

This amount covered not only the recording of the song but also the production of its music video and the promotion activities carried out both before and after its release.

In his tweet, Iyanya expressed shock at the exorbitant cost of promoting songs in Nigeria, which has become a common trend in the music industry.

He further revealed that the least amount he has ever spent on a song was N27 million, and this occurred in January 2021.

Despite the costs he incurred, Iyanya advised upcoming artists not to be discouraged by his revelation. Instead, he encouraged them to remain focused and consistent in their musical pursuits.

Iyanya wrote;

“Promoting music has become very expensive, if you are lucky to get a song go viral make you Thank God.”

“The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m.

When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52 million, song, Video and promotion.

This should not discourage any up-and-coming artiste, you can do it, all you need it’s consistency.”
