Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.
A PSV statement said: “PSV and LFC have reached an agreement on the proposed transfer of Cody Gakpo.
“The 23-year-old attacker will leave for England imminently where he will be subjected to the necessary formalities ahead of the completion of the transfer.”
Gakpo had an outstanding World Cup campaign in which he scored three goals in five appearances for the Oranje before elimination to the eventual winners, Argentina.
This season has seen Liverpool lose key attackers Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota to injury, but Gakpo would certainly bolster Jurgen Klopp’s forward options.
He would join an attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho.
