Manchester United have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
The Cameroonian stopper, 27, has been chosen as Erik ten Hag’s new No1 after David de Gea ended his 12-year spell with the Red Devils.
Onana reunites with the Dutch boss after the pair spent five seasons together at Ajax.
He gave an interview to the Manchester United website, saying: “To join Manchester United is an incredible honour — and I have worked hard all my life to get to this moment.
“Walking out at Old Trafford to defend our goal and contribute to the team will be another amazing experience.”
Having left the Eredivisie outfit to join Inter last summer, he played a starring role in their run to the Champions League final in 2022-23.
Former keeper De Gea confirmed earlier in July that he had left Old Trafford upon the expiry of his contract.
The Spaniard made 545 appearances for the Red Devils, leaving big gloves for Onana to fill.
Andre Onana will replace the departing David de Gea at Manchester United
“It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think from leaving Madrid as a young boy we would achieve what we did together.
“Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.
“Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me.”
